Well, I wouldn’t say that plastic surgery is intended to make you look beautiful. It’s intended to alter your looks in the way that you prefer. All that matters is that the person getting it done is happy with the result. Not some other random person who isn’t them.

Also, beauty standards change a lot. Just look at how fashion changed from the middle ages through the Renaissance and after. You can tell what features were important by how garments were designed.

We also have that in Michigan. You still see bottles and cans places. Historically, there have a lot of ‘reward programs’ that incentivised keeping bottle caps separate (either from the company or occasionally locally for reasons). I also distinctly remember it being advertised that bottle needed to be capless for recycling, so we always removed the caps and tossed them. Only recently have I seen verbiage on bottles requesting them to be recycled with caps on, which I usually forget to do because it’s habit to toss the caps.

As an American from the Midwest, babies with pierced ears is pretty normal. It wouldn’t really get any looks or anything.

There’s also the push to teach abstinence only sex ed rather than educating about safe sex.

Subscribing to deliveries typically gives a discount, which makes the cost cheaper than going to the store and removes wear & tear on your vehicles and your own gas costs.

Depending on what kind of litter you want, the store might not even carry it. My cat litter is from a major brand, but is one that doesn’t get as much in stock at my local places and when itis in stock, it’s rarely the cheaper, larger box, so that also increases the cost.

Cat litter is fucking heavy. I don’t blame anyone wanting it delivered to their door.
