  • I work in hospice and see a variety of conditions. Some people in their 60’s with significant mobility issues that are chronically exhausted, but then there’s the patients in their 90’s who just recently started cutting back on social events and activities due to injury/illness.

Seeing these differences was why I started roller skating (again) at 49 and increased other activities to keep my ass moving and challenge my coordination and balance. I want to get everything I can out of this life.

American here - it could be different in other states, but as a parent every year at the beginning of the school year I had to sign a specific form during registration stating whether or not I would permit my child’s photo be taken/published. Yes, it’s going to be a nightmare to track, but the school shouldn’t want the headache of the fall out for not pulling a photo.

I was raised around those good old traditional values like “do what you’re told” and “a woman’s value is caring for a family.” Once I started thinking for myself and asking questions, I still struggled with all the “but they’re killing living babies!” idea. Then one day it occurred to me - we don’t determine death by when the heart stops, why would we decide it starts just because we hear a beat? Brain death determines death, wouldn’t an appropriate level of brain activity determine life? I let go of a lot of baggage that day.

  • Think of it this way - it’s a little defect in the skin. Instead of your skin shedding and falling off/washing off your body, you have a little pocket that keeps collecting those skin cells (cells are shedding inside the pocket.) That’s why it smells gross and comes back even after you squeeze it. To get rid of it permanently, it would need to be surgically removed. Totally Dr Pimple Popper territory.

  • I worked with someone years ago that had it twice as a kid. Bio kids are off the table for him.

I wish to offer eloquently worded condolences or congratulations in regards to the potential long term effects in accordance with your desires, but I’m fighting a losing battle with words here. I think you get the idea though.

LPT - only open one eye if you need any lights. Instead of being blinded by the light only to be lost in darkness when you turn it off, the eye you kept closed will remain more adjusted to the dark so you don’t step on the dog after you turned the light back off.

  • Plus, my shit phone takes multiple attempts for the reader to actually work, then I have to download the PDF for the menu (one of the reasons my phone is shitty is because everything fights for device storage space).

Just give me the plastic coated pages of a menu to page through. I promise I won’t wipe my boogies on the pages or lick my fingers while browsing.
