How bad is it for low earth orbit to have multiple companies fighting over the market?

The closest i had to the smartphones we have today before my first gen ipod touch was a chinese MP4 player that had internet, apps and access to some other functions, the uncle of my brother’s girlfriend was selling. I paid $100 CAD for it at the time and it was overall pretty trash but it had a really good idea behind it. I probably used it for a year or 2 before the ipod touch came out wich i paid $500 CAD for. I was 12 and that was all my money XD

Same i was reading a lot as a kid and have been on screens a lot since but my vision isn’t horrible. Left eye is definitely near sighted. But overall it’s ok. I definitely try to spend less time on my phone wich seems to be the worst for me.

It’s just funny to see how low they can go at that point.

The other way of fixing this would be to make starlink share the network with other companies. We don’t want 10 companies have their own starlink in the sky at once.

It’s great tech that can change people’s lives in regions where internet isn’t accessible or really bad. It’s unfortunate that musk decided to go all out in being a pile of trash.

I would love a deep dive on the mechanisms of enshittification. Why make the user experience worse on a product you are trying people to keep using? Do they lose an amount of users like a resource to gain more favorable things for themselves with deals wich end up impacting the users negatively and they know it will?

Dystopian for the little shitters but an absolute dream world for the rich. Guess who’s driving this ship?
