  • This isn’t always the case.

I had a salmon flaverolle rooster, one of the stereotypical cockfighting breeds, known for their aggression and beautiful plumage.

A raccoon got into the coop and mortally wounded one hen and killed the hen that was the only one to stand up and fight, a silkie. Silkies are tiny fluffy luxury birds with fluffy feathers on their feet, they don’t have good meat and lay eggs with a diameter smaller than a quarter. She was the only hen that scared the rooster because she beat the hell out of him when he tried to breed her a few times. She ruled the roost with tiny fluffy feet and handled disputes between birds 3-4x her size without issue.

The rooster? Unharmed entirely and found cowering on the top roost. He wouldn’t fight a raccoon, but he would always try to disembowel me when I went into the coop.

  • I don’t think you fully understand the problem of Lunar or Mars colonization, why they made the decision on their strategy, and what the purpose of this testing phase is.

For that launch, they were testing booster orientation strategy for re-entry, craft response to missing heat tiles in certain locations, and the deployment mechanism for satellite launches. The failures mean more than the successes because you learn more in failure.

Are you expecting them to do things that have never been done before and have flawless tests? The Apollo and Gemini program had tons of failures and 6 deaths. Starship has had a ton of failures(most caused by pushing limits just to see what happens) and 0 deaths.

I get it, Elon is bad so fuck everything he touches, but there are teams of brilliant people who are actually doing the work at SpaceX and they are doing great.

  • If the picture is the actual thing, it doesn’t have the detonator and fuse. You could throw it in a fire and not have a problem. You could hit it with a hammer and not have a problem. If you threw it in a fire and hit it with a hammer, you would ruin your whole day.

Most likely it has been fully demilled and is just a grenade shaped object that only is a threat if it is thrown at you or dropped on your naked toes.

If you aren’t certain an explosive device is inert, don’t pick it up and clear out anybody while you wait for an adult with gallows humor to clear it. How far you need to un-ass from the area depends on the size. A grenade? 100m. Anything else, the harder it would be to fit it in your ass, the further you need to GTFO.

  • The artist used stolen materials to make art. The AI “artist” used stolen materials to make “art”.

One makes money, one doesn’t . The market has spoken. Actual artists will be able to continue on not make much money doing what they love and that is the meta of their chosen path. If you are an artist and you feel your job is threatened by AI, make better art or join the club of people who had their jobs taken by technology; you will have company. We still have cobblers, blacksmiths, and woodworkers; artists should take note of their revised business models.
