lmao it’s already too late
I think the real origins come from “do you know where you’re children are?” PSA campaign during the Atlanta Child Murders in the 70s. My parents said they remember the whole country started locking their doors and were crazy about keeping their kids inside.
Yeah! I live in NYC and when it snows here it’s so tranquil it’s kinda surreal.
That priest looks stoked
Ahhh ok yeah that makes more sense then. I thought I saw something saying discount for YTTV for like $600 or something was like wtf. The 22 camera thing sounds like the F1TV feature which is pretty cool.
There are wide swaths of dt Manhattan that are completely empty rn. Floors and floors of high rises. A lot of them are on 10 year leases so they’re just being paid still while no one uses them but when they all go up it’s gonna be interesting.
The current corrupt mayor refused to rezone them for residential and did a big RTO campaign that fell flat. They’ll keep them empty even after rents end or try to figure out ways to rent whole floors to the mega rich. They’ll never convert them to normal housing as it will lower the value of their skyscrapers. Instead they’ll continue to lobby for RTO politicians to ensure businesses force back people to work in them.
Holy shit someone still operates this?!
Doesn’t it cost something ridiculous like $2000/yr to be able to watch every NFL game? It’s crazy because it’s nowhere near as entertaining as CFB anyway lol.
I thought $80/yr was a lot to see every F1 race but it also includes live telemetry, cockpit cams, and team radios you can bounce between during every event. As well as two different commentary streams, every past race, and loads of post race commentaries and docs. I can’t imagine spending any more on it though.
A week before next month
The US government moreso than NASA as funding for them as been an easy punching bag for both political parties lately.
The other thing is optics. NASA isn’t allowed to blow up 20 rockets on their designs. They only get one chance to get it right. That’s why the SLS has only 1 launch and is 1/1 as opposed to the SpaceX Dragon and Starship can just throw money at them until they work.
Not saying one way is better than the other, just that NASA has to fight not to make the front page because 9/10 it means they made a mistake which costs them more funding. IMO all of this is going to come up to a very slow pace akin to NASA when we start with crewed missions (SpaceX Starship will be mission controlled by NASA as well). They super don’t fuck around with crewed launches, especially after the botched Boeing Space launch. And a crew launch failure affects everyone SpaceX and NASA alike.
Look left
Everyone in here like yay truck bad, I don’t give a fuck about Teslas what’s fucked is goddamn insurance companies can just arbitraryly drop your coverage for no fault of your own. It should be illegal. Like sorry but you agreed to cover this, with all its flaws and took my money for years.
I really wish car/home/health insurance were just federalized. These companies are the oldest con perpetrated on the general public tbh.
That would make for a great comedy, bunch of engineers “defect” to USSR but just sabotage everything and are shit engineers.
The Bengineers
Man if it wasn’t for that kid that was probably dragged into this, I’d be fucking rolling rn. How fucking stupid do you have to be to not see the sea of red flags???
this little bit of dunking
Ha I see what you did there
Was wondering what took a shit all over his face
One of the deaths was a kid
Expanse hand terminal so close. Can have the iPhone rectangle kind or the slap it on your wrist kind.
What we really need is decentralized data and computing. Make phones super basic screens/radio hardware and all your data and computation done remotely. Makes hardware more renewable because you don’t need to buy one every 2 years, cheaper, and since it has so much less hardware you can do really cool designs like a single transparent glass chassis.
So we can start setting up a GPS network around the moon to get super accurate timing for things like automated 3HE harvesters?
