How do I send money to you?
If somebody doesn’t need to play at 4k 60fps doesn’t mean they don’t care about graphics at all.
There are graphics settings in between maxed out and bare minimum for a reason. I guess whatever floats your boat. I couldn’t justify spending 2000 on GPU plus another 1000 on a CPU + monitor just so I can go from 1080p to 4k. Does that mean I don’t care about graphics? No, it just means I don’t value 4k over 1080p at a $3000 price tag. I’m “fortunate” (if that’s what you call wage labor) enough that I could afford it, but it’s just not a priority for me.
What games are the 5% that need a 5090 to enjoy? I can run any game on the market right now at a minimum 1080p 60fps on my 3060.
Because the Republican party represents the rich class. Whatever helps the bottom line. I’m absolutely shocked how many middle to lower class people vote for Republicans. They’re literally voting against their own interests. The Democrats need to modify their agenda to be a full fledged worker class party or we’re doomed.
The developers have acknowledged the problem and say they’re working on a fix.
No thank you.
Pretty sure the votes don’t work on the ads. Why would they, every ad would get down voted into oblivion and not show up on people’s feeds. It reminds me of the fake comments on Facebook ads. “Pre-ordered my shwami blankets, can’t wait!”
More of their bullshitery. I had the audacity to use my browser to click a reddit link.
It’s not even enjoyable for me because it’s literal spam posts. It’s like the old school sex phone commercials. Doesn’t matter what the hot girl is doing or saying in the commercial, just put my show back on.
I’m not even that old (no offense) and I do that too. I’ll use apps if it doesn’t collect any data, and preferably FOSS, like Voyager. Anyways, thanks for the tip, I’ll log in on browser for my instance blocking needs.
Edit: jk, according to another comment, it’s not available on lemmy.world at the moment. Soon though.
My reasoning is that the people should be the “mods” essentially. If one community gets blocked by the majority of the people, then it might as well not exist. It will eventually die out through not enough people upvoting/downvoting, commenting, and basically interacting with them at all. The “any publicity is good publicity” saying applies to anything on the Internet.
This is another instance I would like to block. The onlyfans brigade is strong on lemmy.
Did you do it through an app or browser?
Block whole communities. That’s what I started doing. There’s one instance that I would like to block but that feature isn’t available yet as far as I’m aware. Reddit was the same way around 10 years ago, it’s been pruned and censored to the point where it’s more appealing to the average worldwide user. I don’t want that to happen to Lemmy; not to sound dismissive, but utilize your block list instead of calling for more/better mods.
I just dropped Sync. I’ve used it for reddit since the app came out. Even paid for the premium version years ago. My purchase didn’t carry over to the lemmy version, and I noticed the app collects data for marketing now. Switched to Voyager, it’s not as fluid as Sync but I’ll get used to it.
Isn’t ‘theft of intellectual property’ taking someone else’s work and try to pass it off as your own?
As others have mentioned, if it was all free, it would be riddled with ads. You really only have two options, ublock and customize your blocked elements, or pay.
