Not even a day, i noticed the trackpad has different intensity between left and right. and the shoulder button is the worse, the right one has weird double click and has longer travel. Returned it right away. The problem is, its not released in my country so i had to buy off 3rd party seller and i was lucky i can return it. Wouldnt want my new deck already opened and repaired on the first day.

A couple of months later i bought another one and guess what. Same problem. After reading around it is actually common problem for the shoulder button.

Im not really sure about the update part but Moxie himself is hesitant to release it outside of play store and signal website. Even GOS dev isnt really a fan of fdroid from what i read at GOS forum.

It really depends on youe threat model. What im trying to say is, if youre really want to make sure. Download from signal website and let the app update it self next time. No middle man.

Signal is not distributed outside Play store and signal own website. If you downloaded from F-droid, its probably from Guardian repo.

If you download it from play store, signal will update through play store. If you download it from signal, it will update through itself. If you download it Guardian repo, it’s basically the same downloading from signal website, it will update it self.

The thing you can do is just basically turn off the update notification and just update it from guardian repo. Or just disable the guardian repo and let the signal update itself.

I used intel nuc j5005 for 4 years iirc with 2 bay hdd enclosure, Orico brand. Never had any problem that i hear about such as random diaconnecting. Granted i used it to host my media. So i dont pratically mind if the data is gone.

I used openmediavault with usb boot drive. Internal 2.5’ drive as docker appdata. All my media files is stored on the external enclosure. The only problem i noticed is the temperature but thats because of high ambient temp.

If youre planning to use ext enclosure for critical data. Might wanna think twice. But, if you have proper backup plan. Sure why not.
