and not surface stuff like “whats my ip” “whats my fingerprint” (someone said the fingerprint checking sites are useless idk) or “is tor connected”

i have no clue what im doing and i want to know where the security/privacy holes are

    Not sure what you’re asking here. If you’re looking for a starting point for some research, here’s a few things:

    1. Use a browser with an ad blocker
    2. Use a VPN from Proton, Mullvad or Windscribe
    3. Use email aliases
    4. Get as far away from datamining platforms like Google and Meta as you can. Ideally delete them both completely.
    5. Use private and free operating systems like Linux and GrapheneOS.

    That should be enough to get you started.

      Windscribe

      I wouldn’t personally recommend Windscribe. There are quite a few reasons why.

      Their seized Ukrainian VPN servers were not encrypted. Also four years have already passed (since it was first mentioned), but the audit by cure53 has still not been published, and Windscribe is acting in a completely non-transparent manner.

      Aside from ProtonVPN another good option is iVPN. To use Mullvad or not after their cofounder donated to fascist party is up to you, but avoid AirVPN or NymVPN, as those has not been properly audited.
