The trouble is oil prices are going up as well which means that everything else is more expensive. So unless your hobby is sitting alone in a dark room with all the power switched off, you’re losing out as well.
Cooperative storytelling, old boardgames and outdoor social activities - there’s plenty to do without buying new stuff.
