Clean coal is a technology that has only been implemented once in North America. In Saskatchewan. It costs an additional $10/watt, and so as uneconomical as on budget nuclear, and only captures 65% of emissions (but pollution included). Far more emission reductions is possible with solar and 2 hours of battery, at around $1/watt, and simply running the coal plant less than 35% of the year. But at any rate, that is the very narrow definition of clean coal.
Coal power is dirty. Mining is a health hazard, pollution is too. Global warming not going to help.
