That is literally impossible to say, as you said, “hostile vendors” and all. I’ve had a chance to think about it, and I’m not sure they’re hostile, probably just lazy. At any rate, I sense some willful blindness on your part; exactly the kind of thing I was saying holds back progress. To be fair to your point, windows does seem to be biased toward HP products - I have a really nice Canon $100 laser printer that makes any HP look like dogvomit, and windows is awfully forgetful, acting like they haven’t met on the rare occasions I have to use it.
