If you visit the dentist, then (in the UK) you are not meant to donate blood for the next two weeks.
Any trauma in the mouth from the dentistry will allow mouth bacteria into your bloodstream, and whilst it’ll be okay for you a weaker person may not do well from the subsequent transfusion.

In the US the dentist draws your blood and then sells it on the side. Guys gotta make ends meet somehow.
