My parents still have one that’s probably older than I am. I figured it’s just some gimmick lock from back in the day that was marketed as “high security” because of the wierd looking key. They have a thing about this, y’know how some people have to have some kinda edge on the “rest of the plebs”, can’t just be normal and buy a normal lock, no they gotta buy… this thing.
People still use those Abloy locks?
In Finland? yeah. When I lived in the city I had a safer one, but here in the boons it’s exactly the model above. For the front door.

Not just obscurity. It needs a fiddly custom tool that’s super easy to break and needs a ton of skill to use.
Why not? It’s only “bad” compared to newer Abloys.

No lock is “high security”, but Abloy are better than most.
Is there a reason switch?
