In my opinion, no, Technology is “the application of scientific knowledge to the practical aims of human life”. A data breach is not an application of scientific knowledge in any way.
Since this is purely a news article, it’s of little value a year later, when a more up-to-date article about verification would have more current information.
If it was about how some part of the tech stack worked (“article”) and things hadn’t changed that much, an older article would probably fare better.

You should put the year clearly in the title of the post
