When my Steam Deck got delayed a couple years ago (wrong destination airport, 1 week delay). I contacted support and they apologized and offered me a free game of my choice. Never have had this kind of experience with any other retailer.

The controller is great.
With the relatively low number of people they’re doing this for, Valve recouped the costs through pr and free marketing, I’m sure.
It’s still jarring to see a corporation make any sort of consumer-friendly gesture in 2026.
