This currently only works for poor people because access to skill is free right now… and we see it not working for billionaires once the financial bubble around LLMs bursts.

Not that billionaires will suddenly be poor, but someone will be holding the bag eventually. We see efforts right now that the government/taxpayers will be the ones via bailouts. This is of course unacceptable but the patriotism argument that the West needs to outcompete China may work for some.
