Game Developer reports that Denuvo is trying to subpoena Discord, Valve, and Reddit to identify the hacker behind a string of cracks over the past year. For studios shipping protected PC builds, the …
Given the genuienly astonishing capability of datacenter powered LLMs at reverse engineering and then recompiling games…
There’s basically no way that any closed source, client side, kernel level anti cheat is somehow immune to being ripped wide open.
So… that entire industry, that entire category of software… basically doesn’t make any sense anymore.
People have been defeating kernel AC for a long time, but this is ridiculous, it wins the war.
Like, the only actual option that kernel AC has at this point is to push for regulating access to such high powered LLMs, but, that basically can’t make any sense unless liability is shifted to or established /somewhere/, either the hosting datacenter or the LLM model publishers, or some middleman (LLM insurance?)…
It has to actually exist /somewhere/, though.
And so far, the seeming entire purpose of LLMs from the C Suite standpoint is: we want a situation where we can do things and /no one/ is liable if anything goes wrong.

My guess would be basically: chaos will reign.
