If I don’t know what an emulsifier is, then chances are… I probably don’t know what an emulsion is either

That’s like if a biology teacher tells a student “taxonomy is the classification of taxonomical groups” yeah no shit, asshole

  • Being real with you, even in a paper printed dictionary, all you have to do is move your eyes to see the word emulsion. But even when a definition refers to a totally different word, turning pages isn’t exactly a high demand task.

This one? It has a link to the root word right there. It’s visible in the screen shot. You don’t even have to turn a page.

    That’s lazy lol

The worst part? Every English dictionary defines every word in English! You have to already speak English to get the definition for any word! What are you supposed to do if you don’t know any English words at all?

The point is to keep the dictionary smaller and easier to maintain

Definitions will redirect you to the root noun/verb so that the word is only explained once and all its derivations only explain what changed from the base word

But they give you the link to the definition of “emulsion” right there in the text. If you don’t know the word, all it takes to find out is one single click. That’s not laziness, it’s efficient simplicity.
