From the details the article goes over, it’s hard to believe they fired him for any reason other than his disability. Which is flat out illegal. I still won’t be surprised if they get away with it though.

I think that’s just poor wording in the article, they mean he was close to a machine running at that temperature internally, and it was so hot close to it the hearing aids gave out.
