my only issue is how user friendly it isn’t compared to Plex.
i genuinely want to leave Plex (especially the more and more they enshittify) but I just could not figure out how to set up jellyfin. i use Linux every day, and know I’m at least a tiny bit more tech smart than your average PC user, but I can’t imagine trying to explain to my family how to set jellyfin up.

9·8 months ago50 million people, apparently. it’s been one of the most popular things on google play afaik. also: exactly the kind of people who would trust ai to spoon feed them info.

37·8 months agoi really dislike google shoving their misinformation generator here because it’s the default app installer for android, and for older or tech illiterate people it’s the only app installer.

12·11 months agoif you want an app, revanced is good. it has the same UI of the normal YouTube app (minus whatever you don’t want, like ads or shorts or news etc, it’s one of the most customizable ones I’ve seen) and besides adblocking has sponsorblock and return dislike and stuff built in (optional ofc) you can still use new pipe for downloads when you press the in-app download button and I like that feature a lot.
my other suggestion is Firefox + ublock origin. can never go wrong with the classics haha
edit: revanced.app is the official site

11·1 year agonot anymore lol, not these days. and regardless, id rather pay some effort and time to have access to literally everything i could need, rather than paying out of my paycheck for a service where i dont get to keep what I want if the service goes down or if they decide they just dont wanna carry the show that im watching anymore. if they have it in the first place. (but hey, you could always pay for multiple subscription services so you get to watch most of what you want to. just not keep, that’s not your choice lol)

proton was the only good free VPN, but apparently the CEO was recently praising trump and shit so that’s obviously caused a lot of users to stop using it and telling others to not use it.
