confuser@lemmy.zipto Technology@lemmy.world•We need to stop pretending AI is intelligentEnglish124·19 days agoThe thing is, ai is compression of intelligence but not intelligence itself. That’s the part that confuses people. Ai is the ability to put anything describable into a compressed zip.

The lack of https://grayjay.app/ being mentioned in this comment section is criminal lol

I had known about Microsoft’s work on this topological chip for at least a year before the recent rage about it thanks to a youtube channel called domain of science who went over what was happening here, he is a quantum hardware developer first but stopped to make this YouTube channel which creates maps of various fields of science, its a very good channel highly reccomend it!
I started using fastmail, best thing I decided to do in awhile
How do we activate this feature? I have it enabled after going into the developer settings menu but nothing seems to happen, I see mentions of an app but idk what the app is. I am on grapheneOS though instead of normal android so there could be something with that here.
Oh nvm I figured it out, it just took a bit for me to realize there was a new terminal app on my phone
It is not at all like chrome other than it uses chromium which is not inherently bad, its just googles use of it in chrome that is.
You can turn off like 2 toggle buttons and see nothing related to crypto ever.
Yean chromium itself is not evil, its Google’s use of it in chrome that is evil, people confuse this a lot I think.
I am surprised by the lack of people mentioning brave, i swear it used to be mentioned everywhere.
Did something happen or did a newer better browser come out?
Does anyone have suggestions for anything decent dating wise since I’m sure lots of people seeing this post also want to find the best ways to date?
confuser@lemmy.zipto Technology@lemmy.world•I Ditched the Algorithm for RSS - and You Should TooEnglish2·6 months agoIt makes the most sense to get off discord by being platform agnostic in my opinion, just going to wherever you can find clusters of the types of connections you want in whatever format works for you as long as the format meets your requirements like privacy or whatever else, if you can find the bulk of it in a single place that’s great but not necessary.
I’d also suggest giving vesktop a try which is a 3rd party discord client, it has some features for fixing certain oddball things that may crop up as well as just various typical 3rd party client things like plugins.
Discord used to say nope to 3rd party clients but there was a change in their tos a few years ago where they are accepted and nearly encouraged.

I saw something once that explained how you can have an ai trained on a set of soccer games and have it generate soccer games as a use for it.
The idea is that the model has compressed all the soccer games into a smaller data size form than the total of having let’s say 100+ games on video or whatever.
That’s the real utility I see in generative ai that I know can keep going basically as long as we want to.
