Thanks for this final comment. There really isn’t anything further to say to the person or bot or whatever it is.

They don’t understand how and when deadly force is actually authorized. The US, as bad as it as it today, isn’t a country like Afghanistan. Contrary to all the attempts to change that, it’s not how things work there (or at least generally).

I wish the US the best, because things there have become such a mess. This is a huge travesty I can only hope justice ultimately prevails.

I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and presume you don’t understand what the words “offensive maneuver” mean.

She was not attacking them. She was clearly trying to leave when an officer violently tried to forcefully remove her from her car.

Fleeing the scene, even when committing was a crime, is not enough to justify deadly force.

There’s plenty of court cases to look up if you’re uncertain how the American law system works. But I suspect this isn’t something you actually care about.

Their lives were not threatened.

She didn’t have to die.

She was trying to drive away. There was no attack by this woman. The only attack was by the murderer.

The only individual at any risk was put into that position by the violence perpetrated by the “agent” trying to force their way into her car.

The “agent” at risk, the shooter, had his weapon unnecessarily drawn and aimed at her face. The threat to his person passed once he cleared her vehicle, but he chose to shoot unrestrained and recklessly anyway.

She was leaving as they wanted. They got angry with her. She didn’t comply, so they responded with violence.

The murderer accomplished no good with his actions. He did not save his own life or anyone else’s because there was no danger once he cleared the path of the vehicle. There was nothing to defend.

She didn’t have to die.

He did not have to murder her.

Things are still murky to me. Google said the following:

Narcissism is genuine psychological disorder. Your comment doesn’t explain how he would be one of “the most narcissistic people.”

However, you genuinely made me curious about how many people have been contributing and by how much, so I looked it up on GitHub as you mentioned. There have been 159 contributors. The second most being 210 commits. Dan is the number one contributor at over 10,000 commits!

I can’t know his motivations, only what he shares publicly. I don’t follow PixelFed development closely. I don’t know why he’s trying to do so much at once. And I honestly thought Sup was short for Whatsup.

What I do know is what it’s like to slave for thousands of hours, writing millions of lines of code, trying to manage multiple projects with numerous hands in it, ridiculous deadlines, and with customers and users quick to criticize without truly understanding everything entailed in such projects.

Perhaps I’m honestly ignorant and he really is someone to loath. So far though, PixelFed has been a gem that connects me with a lot of beauty. I personally know loathsome humans. There’s plenty more in the news daily.

This Forbes article though? It’s doing something really good for the Fediverse. It’s highlighting the need for funding projects like these. And, yeah, it mentions Dan because he’s the one who got these projects of the ground and has done nearly all the bleeding and sweating for it.

I get the concerns and fears, but I’m not sure there is reason think we’re there yet.

I guess I’m just grateful.

Well goodness. I read the article, fortunately, but it’s good to see other people pointing out here.

My initial thought was that this was the matrix we obviously care about. I didn’t look at the details to see if these people are truly nefarious and do belong in jail, which I’m okay with, but it was definitely troubling to imagine that something I thought secure wasn’t secure. 😬

And this was how I learned that Video Station is no longer supported by Synology. If you want the updates, you’ll have to uninstall it.
